What do the letters I, J, P and, E stand for when used in a sailboat specification listing? I have been watching this site for a while and have seen nothing about these alpha characters nor have I been able to find any information in the various books about sailboats.

Thanks Bernie

Thanks for the info Bernie. I was also interested in what the letters I, J, P, and E stood for. Is each letter shorthand for some word?

Measurement definitions: diagram available

There seems to be a lot of knowledge and some confusion as to what the various measurments definitions actually are. I dug in my old handicapper's manual and came up with a diagram that shows it pretty well. If any of you guys are interested, send me your e-mail and I'll download it.
