I am considering selling a partnership interest in my sailboat. I am looking for advice, suggestions, and specific agreements that may exist. Look forward to your ideas.

I am also considering selling one or two partnership shares in my Hunter 430. I keep her in St. John. If you get any good advice please pass it along. scott@kotisprop.com

Partner neighbor

When we lived on the Bay we had a neighbor boat who was a 4person partener boat. It was a junker. None did any maintenance, cleaning, line replacement, etc. They left onetime with a broken dockline. We came in and replaced it with an old line just to ensure our boat would not get damaged. We left notes on the boat and with the yard but they never replaced it. Finally we retrieved our line and the yard used the handiest thing on their boat. Anchor rhode. They continued using the rhode...... IMO, Unless there is someone who will take of the boat the partners money is not worth it. The partners would come out to sail and dock the boat and leave. It wasn't even rinsed. None wanted to spend their free weekend time in upkeep. Just make sure that who ever you partner with understands the levels the boat must be maintained and who and how the work will be preformed.
