I'll be in summerville S.C. for a few days march 5-8, and as you can tell by my name I'm a complete rookie, my question is anyone in a 60 +- mile radius of summerville willing to take me out for some pointers and ride. I can't afford commercial prices but can pay $100 for 3-4 hrs. If its safe enough I would like to bring my 10 year old son. Thanks

i am not the one to take you out and sail as i am a newby myself but i can give you a lesson ...if thy don't have a cg captains license you cant pay them to do that but there are a lot of nice folks here that may take you out as a guest ...if i were closer i could take you on a motor sail in the bay and maybe by me posting this reply it will start some activity on here good luck and enjoy your stay i love summerville you are close to Charleston so take yourself and your son down to the city marina there and walk the docks good luck
Yes, but wish I wasn't, I grew up a bit south of there in Oregon city Oregon, lots of rain in the winter but the fishing and hunting was amazing! Now I'm stuck in Ohio sitting in 5" of snow with a ice storm bearing down and a balmy 15*

I so wish I could offer to take you sailing on Lake Murray. Work and family are getting in the way, though. There may be other forums where you could post your request.
As far as saying thank you to your host, I would provide lunch and find out what refreshments he would enjoy. But as your host I would probably have it covered. But offering is always in fashion.

drove in from Knoxville yesterday to IOP. Any Charleston Bay sailing going on this week that might give opportunity to crew for a few hours?

o.k. she was raised around lake city Clinton area. like I said would offer you and your son a trip out but mine is up in bath n.c. bringing her to Edisto beach area around june hopefully
