Would like to bareboat charter sailboat in Key West or Key Largo in March for a couple of days. We will be in Delray Beach for 2 weeks. Mar.4 to March 18. Any advice would be appreciated.

There's a very large charter operator based in Miami and Key West, mostly Hunters. A quick search on Google will find them. They charter one way and round trip (Miami to Key West, or back) and have mostly new larger boats. We chartered from a small operation in Marathon (middle keys) who had two older 27s, one a Catalina, at very good rates. If you only have a couple of days he would be a good bet. Again, check Google for "Marathon bare boat charters.." In two days you won't get very far so being based in Marathon or Key West probably makes more sense than Miami. Good luck.

Sailboat charters in Marathon
Chartering from Marathon is a good idea, as Sanders said. If you charter from Miami, there's not too much to see within a full day's sail south. If you're interested in a boat under 30', the charter fleet in Marathon (again mentioned by Sanders) is run by Bill Cooper. He's a lifelong waterman, and one of his boats was featured in Sail Magazine during a sail through the Everglades. His boats are older, but he takes very good care of them. He operates out of my home marina, the Keys Fisheries Marina in Marathon, so I see him at work on his boats regularly. His phone number is 305-743-3204. He also has a bicycle shop, so he might answer the phone "Marathon Bicycles". Tell him Dr. Bob said hello.

Florida Yacht Charters
They have boats in Miami and in Key West. Chartered from them over New Years. I thought there was more to see on the first day south from Miami than the earlier poster indicated, probably because it was new to me. Got to a nice anchorage pretty quickly at Elliott Key.
