Is this book tailored for Hunter sailboats or is it a general reference? i.e. does it cover B&R rigs, in mast furling, zero back stays, no cunnighams etc.

info for all sloops. Don is available on this site under "Ask the Experts". He also has "Trim Cards" (kind of like the old cheat sheets) for use at the helm. I've never seen the book of the cards so I really can't say anything about them. Tom s/v Orion's Child

at first i was a little disapointed when i opened the envelope. after i read it and put it to practicle use WOW. i thought prior to his book i knew what i was doing, but now i realize how little i knew. it is amazing how much more exciting sailing was when you can put knowledge into it. everyone should buy his book!!! and don, NICE JOB!! mike

For all out there that have this book, how long did it take to recieve it? I ordered it about two weeks ago and have not recieved it yet. I hope it is just the time of year. I am looking forward to reading it. Dale

Looks like it shipped 11/24 from the Left Coast. The Guide ships book rate so it can be slow in December. For reference, the Trim Chart ships first class. ph.

This book is Excellent
It is however written for traditional rigs in mind. I doubt that Don was thinking of Hunters only when he wrote. But, he was for sure not writing it for furling systems, since he references the battens and adjustments for trim that can not be done with furling systems. However, if you read it carefully and apply what you can to a furling system, it will have you light years ahead of where you may presently be with regard to your sail trim knowledge. I use the book all the time, have read it at least a half dozen times and gain something new with each additional reading. Just learing about draft and depth of it and how to interpret what the tell-tales are indicating will have you sailing much more efficiently in no time at all. It is well worth the stipend that is charged. It is always in the cockpit with my charts when I am at the wheel.
