I am interested in getting a track gate to keep the sail slides in the track when lowering the sail on my Hunter 37 Cutter. Does anyone know where I can find one?

The problem that I had with the conventional track blocks that tighten in with a screw knob was that they did not let me get the sail down to the boom when I was reefing. I made a gate that covers the slot that you insert the slugs in (after you insert them) I made it out of 1/8 SS. Here is a picture. It fastens into two tapped holes in the mast and covers the slot so the slugs slide past and right down to the boom.

Richard, that thing looks fine and I commend you for making something that works to solve this annoying issue. Well done!

Steve, you are right... except that Rig-Rite apparently know they are an exclusive supplier for Kenyon spars and others because their prices are astronomical (alumimum mast step casting, $265-- should be $65. Complete boom assembly for my boat, over $750 plus $250 shipping, when I could drive 4 hours and pick it up-- DAMCO have one for $595. And don't get me started on their prices for old-gen Schaefer halyard stoppers. Sheesh.)
