Sail/Rigging plan- Hunter40 Sloop

I have a Hunter 40 ft sloop set up with old UK sails(main and 110 Genoa). With that configuration, the boat has been up to 8.2 knts beating to windward. I'm new to sailing and really don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to. I'd love to hear from you all what a racing setup should be for that boat( rig and sail plan.) I mean real racing....the whole nine yards! Thank, jfh

I have a 45' legend looks similiar to the 40' This year we put a new 155% head sail what a difference. We installed a new Furlex roller furler, for cursing. But this has added advantage being much lighter than Hood system and it works. We have a pretty good selection of sails, so we can sail the wind speed. There are lots of things you can do but it's hard to list all of them in this posting not knowing how the boat is currently setup and what your VISA limit is.
