I'm a first time owner this season and I don't know how to remove my roller furled genoa for winter storage. Can anyone explain the procedure to me?

It depends

It depends on the furler. Does your furler use the boat's regular jib halyard to hold up the head or does it have it's own internal halyard? If it has an internal halyard (like mine), then you simply unroll the sail, uncleat and unwind the halyard at the bottom of the furler, attach some extra line to the end, and ease the sail down -- the sail's luff tape will slide down the furler's extrusion groove and out a hole near the bottom. If it uses the boat's halyard -- then I'm not the best person to ask.

Tell Us what type of Furling system you have

There are several methods used. I had similiar questions about my h34 with a Cruising Design system 8 years ago since it did not use the mast halyard Barry

I don't know what type of roller furling it is. A single roller furling line runs up the port side to the drum at the base of the roller. The jib halyard runs from a stop block or clamp on the starboard side of the cockpit (right next to the companionway) to the inside of the mast. It does look like the leading edge of the sail rides in a slot on the roller furler.
