There is a company, I believe in PA that reconditions sails. Ship it to them , they do their thing, and ship it back. Does anyone have the name and address of this company? Thanks in advance

Good results on the main for our 25.5. A little on the pricey side for repairs / conversions, but the cleaning and resining was good. Our sail did not come back "like new" but was significantly better. I figure we will scratch out a few more years after the treatment.

Mine too

I had mine done last year and I was very pleased too... was not cheap but a lot less than a new sail... if you decide to send it, make sure you send it before the spring rush as they will get backed up and take a while to get back to you.

IMHO, Get Second Opinion First

I sent my sails to Sailcare and was more-than-pleased with the results. They will accept your sails and recommend repairs after inspection. This is all well-and-good. I sent mine to them at the beginning of last season (2003). This season (2004) I blew out my mainsail and brought it into my sailmaker for repairs. As soon as he touched it, he said that the sail was "tired" and "stretched out". He also told me that a couple of years ago when he saw me out on the water that he noticed the same thing at that time (before I had them reconditioned). Did Sailcare miss the obvious condition of my sail? I think so. Maybe you want to get a professional opinion first about the condition of your sails. Although Sailcare does teriffic work, I learned that getting the sails reconditioned wasn't a cure for a problem that I did'nt realize I had.

reconditioning sail

I had 10 yr old sails that were begining to stretch and sag and were dirty,I sent them to sailcare and the mail returned markedly better. There did appear to be a slight amount of shrinkage but it fit and works. Looked like the sail was only 2 yrs old not ten. The jib also seemed to shrink a slight bit but was markedly less stretched out and now looks in great trim. Not perfect but better than i expected. The price for the processing is ok, but the extras get ya.
