Would like opinions on having sails re-conditioned. Have information from compainies who do this, and claim to make sails almost good as new. thanx gary guisinger

sailcare

Sail care does a good job. I had mine done last year, I was very pleased. I just had a sail destroyed by a varmit, the insurance company made a large change in depreciation due to the sails being reconditioned. Would highly recommend.

Your sails can look as good as new

And they can repair any damage but if they are blown out and slow don't expect them to come back as fast as new sails can be

Sailcare YES!!!

I just got my sails back from SailCare and they are like brand new. They fixed all the batten flaps and sewed over the edges of the hunter logo. They look great, the only I did not like is that they put a SailCare logo on both of them. But that came off...... Also they re-cut they jib and added a uv cover.

Another Vote for Sailcare

I had my H26 mainsail done by Sailcare and it did come back looking like new. They also added another reef point and handled minor repairs. Highly recommended.

Re-condition? or re-shape

Be careful not to confuse the two. If you want more resin added to sail that has lost it's shape, you are locking in an already more shape, why not send your sail to a sailmaker and have it re-cut for better sailing and have them clean it.

Butch,

Nobody cleans and reresins like Sailcare. They will do repairs but not reshaping. So if it is reshaping you want Butch's idea about a sailmaker is correct. r.w.landau
