Always Measure
Always measure. If I had relied on published measurements for my 1974 Hunter 25 the luff on my new genoa would have been 6" too long. I think this is probably because Hunter changed the deck mold on the 25 after the first two or three years of production. However, my sailmaker said that he has found variations from published specs on other Hunter models. He speculated that Hunter might trim the ends of their mast extrusions off occasionally if they are damaged in shipping or something. Or, perhaps their quality control simply isn't very good. We've certainly seen enough posts on that subject.
