I am looking for a sail lift tool that fits into a drill and into a winch. The tool/portable drill can can help haul up a sail.

I think you're talking about a winch handle. But it doesn't work with an electric drill. They do make electric winch handles but they cost a bundle. If you really need a winch handle to get your sails up, there is something very wrong with either the turning blocks, halyard or sail track. Clean and dry lube the sail track, lubricate the turning blocks(especially at the masthead) and check to see if you are using the wrong size halyard for those sheaves. Once you get this all done the sail will be a piece of cake to raise by hand.

WINCH HANDLE

Your response was appreciated, however I am looking for a tool (similar to a drill bit) that inserts into a portable power drill.

Winch bit

I bought a winch bit on line from the attached link and don't know how I got along without it before. I use it all the time for many things. It sure makes getting the outboard motor back on board from the dink as well.
