I need to replace the CDI flexible Furler on my 1984 Catalina 22. Any suggestions? Looking for something that is easy to install and operate. My boat is sailed on an inland lake in Madison, Wi. Thanks, Jim

How about a new CDI?

If the present CDI Flexible Furler is worn out, (hard to believe..but...)I'd replace it with a new CDI Flexible Furler! There are other brands that work as well, but none is as simple to install or use! OK, so the only brand that I've used is CDI, but we shopped around before buying ours and have had no problems yet in 11 seasons of use.

Why replace the whole furler?

You may find it a lot less expensive to replace only the worn parts in your CDI than opt for a new unit. This could save you several hundreds of dollars. You can access the CDI web site at the link below. Another choice for a C-22 furler that is easy to install is the Schaefer Snap furl. However, please note that the Schaefer Snap furl requires a no. 5 luff tape which is a bit smaller than the no. 6 luff tape that your current CDI furler employs. Hence, you will need to install a smaller no. 5 luft tape onto your jib if you use the Schaefer Snap furl. http://www.sailcdi.com/
