sail folded in mast

The head of the sail folded over and furled into the mast, now we can't unfurl completely. What steps should we take to get sail out?

There is a lot of information on how to avoid this in the future but not a lot of information on solving the immediate problem.

Happened to us once, rigger climbed up and pulled out sail while I used furler lines and outhaul,[pulled back and forthslightly] as he pulled[yanked] on sail took about 5 min.

I was able to clear mine by moving it in and out a few times and then pulling down on the leach. It finally came out.

Thanks for help, think I'll need the rigger however. Hope to avoid this in future.
