HELP!!!!! The mainsail on our 1994 hunter 29.5 was torn apart in a freak thunder storm on the chessapeak.I do not believe that it can be repaired.It was made by North Sails.Can anyone suggest the best company for PRICE and SERVICE for a replacement.

You might give Bacon's a call. They have the best inventory of used sails and boating equipment around and might be able to help. They are in Annapolis at 116 Legion Ave, just off West St. 410-263-4880. Also have a web site at www.baconsails.com. Ask for George -- even if they don't have what you need or you don't want used, he seems to have a good handle on where you might try. Good luck with the sail.Bruce

1 -- First off, take the blown sail to a reputable local sail maker. Let him tell you if it can be repaired. A repair could get you through the season while a replacement is being made.2 -- If cheap is your main concern, try one of the Chinese sail makers you can find in the back of the magazines. I know Lee makes a reasonable product to a price. Materials and quality are what you'd expect for a low price.3 -- If you want great value at a moderate price, not cheap, MODERATE, call Quantum. There is a loft in Annapolis. Quality and ALL the features at a moderate price. I'm VERY pleased with mine.
