Hi, I need the dimensions for the furling Jib for an 81' H30. I guess I am looking for the I,E,J, type numbers. I do not know if the sail is original. I do know that it is a North Sail. Any ideas?

How accurate do you . . .

need to be? The I, J, dimensions from "The Boats" on this website are: 40' 6” and 12' 10”. But any sail loft is going to want to measure. Or at least have your old sail. You could be off several inches because of a furler difference. There are so many H30s out there that any good loft probably has measurements. But they will still want them from your boat. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I have a Genoa that needs $700 in repairs, and I am thinking a used one would be easier to afford. I have the old sail, but I don't know how the letters (I,J,ect) correspond to the sail itself. Any ideas? Also, does anyone know how feasible it is to get a used furling sail in decent condition?

Web site is *NOT* correct.

Check here: http://people.ne.mediaone.net/tlyons/tdl/hunter/pg46.JPG which is the original manual page showing 12'10", 37', 42'. The 1981 is the tall mast version of the boat and is usually in the sailmakers databases with a "TM" after the name. Not all the sailmakers get this right the first time.

Call Hunter

If you call Hunter directly, they can provide all the technical specifications. The last number I have for them is 1-800-771-5556.

Measure, then shop.

Fred, to repeat, you really need exact dimensions. Measure your current sail and don't worry about I and J. Then go to the used sail websites, I'll put a couple of addresses below. But I still think you need to involve a loft. Not only are there three dimensions(luff, leech, and foot) but also the weight and material of the cloth. And there is the luff tape size, it has to fit the groove of your furler. I paid less than $1100. for a new jib(H37C) from Lee(Link below), a much better deal than chancing a good used sail for $700.
