Sail cleaning

Friend of mine...

with an oldish Hunter 25, put his original sails in commercial washer and hit start. Sails came out a bit cleaner than when he put them in, but had the feel of an old flannel shirt.... Don't try this unless you really don't care about your sails.

Don't do it... I'd rather have dirty sails than soft, baggy ones.

You can search the "forum archives" for "sail cleaning" and get some input from people who have used them. I have not used them, but they are the ones who come to mind when I hear "sail cleaning".
