Don Evans says do it your self and I agree.
Don wrote a note a couple of weeks ago about how he cleans his sails in the yard (at home, I think). Unless they are really cruddy or damaged, do it yourself. I had mine cleaned two years ago by the sailmaker who made them in '97 and after he told me what they do, I decided to do it myself. One advantage of having them cleaned by a local loft is that the sailmaker will check the sails for wear and tear. If your sails are old and worn, having a sailmaker look them over is a good idea.
