sail cleaning, jib is FILTHY

Hello everyone,
Just got back to the dock after a great hour and half with my brother and two nieces. While sailing I unfurled the jib and it's just plain filthy! It has green mold on it and dirt. Does anyone know a good way to clean it while at the dock?

It'll have to come off the furler. Most folks will say that you shouldn't use anything more harsh than dish soap or possibly oxyclean but if it's a really bad case of black mold you may have to do a very mild bleach solution and scrub it in very lightly and let it set in the sun.

If you have a worn out sail, don't bother to think about SailCare, it is a waste of money. If the sail is in good condition, then it is worth considering.

Thanks, my sail is in good condition but I'd rather clean it myself and save some money. We'll see in the fall.
