Today there were protests, I guess all over, regarding climate change. This isn't a political thread yet. The protesters put a sailboat on display which was painted half yellow and half pink and, of course hand cuffed themselves to it or the trailer. For maybe up to five likes, what was the sailboat? Get in quick this one isn't going to last. Note: I was impressed they had the mast up - or at least it looked that way. I'm not sure about the sailboat becoming an image of a political movement but I've been wondering why sailing hasn't beat out Kayaking for green fun.

I would bet the boat in that picture is a Southcoast SC22, produced from 1970 to about 1980. It was an economy swing keel boat. I know, I owned one, a 1970 model. The one in the picture is a later model because it has a front window.

Perhaps because kayaks cost hundreds of dollars and sailboats cost thousands. The young people of today are not as lucky as we were in having as much disposable income to buy a boat and maintain it.
