Can someone give me the size of the topmost batten in what I think is an original Doyle sail for our 1994 h23.5??I meant to measure it before I left the lake and forgot . I would like to order it this week and won't be back until next week ,
You can buy 12 foot section of batten material and cut to size with a hack saw. Make sure you round off the ends and sand all sides of the rounded ends. So if you loose another one, you have the batten material stored away.
Also drill a small hole in the end of your new batten and tie it to the velcro closure with a piece of twine, as well, just for insurance for next time. We do that with all ours.
If you have a small tool for burning that is pinpoint, I use to put a hole in the sail cloth along with the suggested hole. You basically sealed the hole material from fraying and would then tie a string thru the whole thing.
