Sagging cockpit floor FWD...

Hello,Just noticed rainwater collecting in the fwd part of my cockpit...boat is sitting to her lines...its the old floor...they did not support the companionway coamings to the hull stringers I imagine...same probably causing gel fractures in this area...Thinking of jacking 'till it drains correctly and installing a King Starboard bulkhead from base of coaming glass to the floor liner...any thoughts...SH.

same problem in my 22 -- the plywood under the deck had let go -- from rot -- anyway -- I replaced the old -- with new plywood and have a pretty good drain going now - it is borderline - but draines - when the trailer is used we put an angle on so water does not collect - seems that trailer is different than water for this.Algae

Sean -I would worry that simply putting a bulkhead under the forward part of the cockpit will add more localized stress and lead to damage. First - is the core in the sole in good shape? I'd check that out first. If not you can recore it and add a gradiant to the sole with fairing compound when you put it back together. How much incline would be needed to make it drain aft? I'd be inclined to start with something as simple as moving something heavy aft when the boat is not in use.Justin

Design Flaw

This has been reported by many OD22 owners, and appears to be more a design problem. If it was me and I really wanted to change this I would consider a false floor (1/2" plywood), slopped back to the stern, until water runs aft, well supported and fiberglassed over. Would be a fairly simple project I imagine.Don
