Has anyone out there figured out a way to install safety netting from the life line to the deck since a 23.5 is lacking an aluminum toe rail? I am mainly concerned with installing it on the bow so my head sail won't drag in the water during transit in and out of the marina. I know someone will respond, "Why don't you install a roller furl?" The head sail is managable and there are other toys that my money would be better spent on (imho). My next boat will have a roller furl. For now I can deal with rigging it and folding it. Thanks, Jonathan Costello

lifeline on deck

i read recently in either WM catalog or don casey boatus library or archives an idea of running a lifeline along the deck and securing it to the deck with "u" brackets...from there you can thread the netting...wish i could remember the reference for you,, but the suggestions seems sounds if you want netting and dont mind putting holes in deck plus the expense of a lifeline... sailorhayes@hotmail.com

Safety Netting

I installed fairleads about every three feet down each side of my h23 and used them to secure the bottom of the netting with 3/16" line threaded through. It worked out really well and was inexpensive and easy to install Dave Noack "Wind DReamer"

Lifeline Idea

I installed netting on our h23 and took nylon cord and ran it on the bottom from stachion to stanchon and then threaded the netting through this. It seemed to work good. We towed it for 6 hours on the freeway as well as sailed it and it hasn't come loose, yet anyway! Rob Morton
