Safety at Sea Seminar

Valid for 5 yrs, and mandatory for at min 30% of the crew for the Chi-Mac race (according to US sailing. )

I will be taking this seminar in Muskegon this weekend. They have a classrom seminar for day one,and optional hands on day 2. I opted for both days.

Who has taken a similar safety course? What did you find most useful? most interesting? and suggestions?

I took it at the San Diego YC two years ago. Most memorable were the hands-on things that you don't normally do:
Full foulies and PFD in the pool,
Deploying and entering a life raft (HARD)
DanBouy vs MOB pole
Flares and signaling

Also talked to the lead investigator of the Wingnuts and LSC accidents for about an hour, very insightful.

I think is you're smart about this in general the one-day session is useless.
