Help! We are considering selling our 1985 40'. Any feedback on whether to sell through a broker or attempt it ourselves ? Thanks, Ed

Try here first!

Ed: Why not try selling here first. You are not going to find a bigger concentration of Hunter owners and prospective owners anywhere else. It cheap and what do you have to loose. You could also setup a deal with a broker and tell him that they can list it too. Who ever sells it makes (or saves) the BIG bucks.

Sold my 31 here fast

I was truly amazed. There is apparently a world of buyers that monitor this site. For $30 or so you can't go wrong.

$19.95, actually

A few bucks more for a photo or other options. :) We do see a lot of boats roll through the classifieds.

Try this

Notwithstanding that the HOW site is narrowly directed to Hunter owners, those who could appreciate your sailboat (1) could be a universe well beyond the Hunter family, (2) will not travel more than 100 miles to buy a boat for fear of having to sail or haul it home. May I recommend the classifieds of your local paper. Find one that has lots of boat ads, preferably a weekly or daily in a market near water. Another alternative is one of the pulp boat "trader" books that has a big selection of sailboats. Be sure to provide an excellent black-and-photo, preferably under sail and tightly cropped to show the close-up view. Also, compare other ads and make yours stand out by comparison. "3 new sails, immaculate condition, cruises 40 miles a stretch, great weekender," etc.
