Sad End

Saw this in the paper.. a kind of a sad end for a grand old boat.. Not a sailor, but a piece of history nevertheless.

i remember when river queen sank at the levee in st louis--i lived there then--1967 autumn....i dont know which is a less ignominious end--sinking and breaking apart at a levee...or death on land--for an old queen??? both are pretty sad ends....to bad they couldnt cradle her and make her into a museum in an appropriate place on the river she ruled for so many decades...
