Sacrificial zinc

I pulled the zinc out of my engine to replace with a new one and it looked like half of it was gone. I tried putting in the new one and it was too long. The new zinc is 2 inches long ( Universal part # 301068). I am assuming I could hack saw this to the proper length and make it fit?? I think the correct lenght is 1 1/2 inch?? Thanks.

Shorten those zincs

Pat;I have a 93 C36, and I have had to cut off a large chunk to get them to fit. It's about 1 1/2 inch, or slightly shorter.
