I have recently purchased a 1997 Sabre 402 Sailboat. It has a dark blue canvas dodger and bimini to which I would like to add a piece of canvas that will tie the two together. The dodger and bimini are the same color as many other Sabre sailboats leading me to suspect that they were provided by Sabre at build time. Does anyone know the color code or name of the dye used in Sabre dark blue dodgers?

Canvas is rarely provided by manufacturers, never by the big boat guys. It would have been done during dealer commissioning. But the good news is that there is a limited list of sunbrella colors, any good canvas shop can get you dialed in. You need a canvas shop(s) and some quotes. Get ‘em in writing!

Once you remove the canvas for winter, take a piece to Lorraine Fabric on Mineral Spring Ave in Pawtucket. They have every available color Sunbrella at good prices. We even got Polar Fleece fender covers in identical color there.

There are a couple of colors darker than the Pacific Blue/4601 so common. Ocean Blue is darker, prettier in my thought/4679. Captain Navy, might be the Sabre blue/4646. If you are concerned about a match, go with white to brighten the cockpit a bit. How much do you need? Look at Sailrite.com, I've been dealing with them for decades.
