ok... I am replacing my fuel tank. I have a large tank in the port side settee that I believe is waste from the head... where in the boat is there a fresh water tank? Also... since I am repowering and redoing the engine compartment... should I go back with a traditional water heater, instant water heater or nothing?

added holding tank in v-berth

I had the same question when I started reworking the 299 I purchased a year ago. What I found and have completed the plumbing accordingly was that the large tank under the port settee was the fresh water tank and then I added a 9 gal holding tank under the v-berth. Holes were already cut in the bulk heads to accomdated this arrangement.

so that means the ..

rubber bladder I found in the back of the boat could have been from the bow and used as waste? I guess I really need to start following the hoses to see where they go.

Tanks

The Water tank on my 37 is uner the port settee and the fuel is under the starboard. We changed the hilding tank to a bladder on the shelf above the water tank as we wanted the extra water tank under the vbirth. We went crusing for 2 years. The hot water tank was trashed since it started to leak and we never missed it. The holding tank is always a problem with the oder. Where else can you put it. We sealed up the bladder very well and only got a wiff when having it pumped out. Also have a Y valve and maserator pump but don't use it in the fresh water lakes we sail in. Good luck Gord
