Seidelmann 25 Keels and comment on rules

Early Seidelmann 25s have a Hunter 25 Keel Shoal and deep. The recess in the hull is the same for either. Note the early keels were 300 to 400 Lbs lighter than the new style.
Later 25s Have a Heavier keel that we cut off with a chain saw to make it shoal then glassed the cut off in the bilge. The recess for this keel is different than the earlier boats.
The Seidelmann 25, 299 and 30T had similar hull shapes and were designed to punch thru the short steep chop up wind in the Chesapeake where Bob raced, not to beat rules as I often see posted here, we raced PHRF.
Not that Bob didn't design a rule beater or two....
