S2 9.2 batteries

Hey guys, can I plug a 3rd battery to the existing 2 batteries setup on my S2. I would add it to the battery 2 circuit, which is the one I use the most, will the alternator be strong enough to charge all of them?

Not all S2s are alike.
What kind and size batteries do you have, what type and size is the new on you plan and what is your alternator rated at?

The 9.2A is set up for two standard automotive size batteries (group 24). I put a 27 in for a while, but while it will fit in the wooden box I had to remove the plastic case. It was sized for a group 24. There is probably enough room to fit a third battery if you put it in sideways, which you should be able to do with a gel type battery (Optima) but they are spendy.

There is a unused water heater platform in the engine compartment, could I place the 3rd batterie there and wire it to the other ones?

Hey BobM, you suggest to add a 3rd deep cycled battery or starting battery?

Deep cycle. You can still use it in a pinch to start her.
