Hunter used SS studs to secure the keel to the hull stub. Our 1991 studs look nothing like the ones in the photo. No rust on ours even though they have some external (bilge) sea water exposure.

My 1977 Cherubini Hunter 30's keel bolts also look brand new. But the jury is still out on the question of rust on these. It may simply be some kind of staining unrelated to rusting.

... you might be able to find a metals junk yard near you that has a hand held XRF gun.
That is a great suggestion +1

Places that advertise "WE BUY GOLD & SILVER" are also using an XRF gun to determine the concentration of gold and/or silver in the stuff you bring in. Some of those guns are multi-elemental, and can also be used to tell you the element content of your alloy.

Oh that's a good idea for a source too. @rgranger is right, they don't all have the libraries to identify the alloy name, but they all do analyze the same number of elements (with minor exceptions for some very high end guns that can read some of the light elements you won't need anyway) and give a percentage output. So even if it doesn't tell you the alloy, if you write down the elements and % concentration post here and we'll tell you what the alloy is.
