What have you found that works well and is easy to use to remove the small rust stains that appear on stainless boat fittings (stanchions,turnbuckles,push/pullpits).I'd prefer something quit & easy, so I can spend more time sailing. Thanks,Bob F.
In the UK we have a substance known as Y 10 Gel. It is intended for removing oil and other stains from waterlines and is simply brushed on, left for about five minutes, and washed off again with water. It contains Oxalic acid and I have used it for removing rust stains on GRP with great success. You may have a similar product on your chandler's shelves.
I use it once a month to take A/C stains off of hull.It may be purchased at WM or Ace and works while you watch! 10 sec max. I had a boat detailer introduce it to me a few years ago. Enjoy!
