"rust" on plastic zippers

Anybody out there has a good recommendation on getting rid of salt on the zipper slides? It seems that one of my sailbags was left wet on salt water for some time and the zippers are completely stuck now.

Wipe with some vinegar.

Good Advice from BobM
Definitely use vinegar ... will help to dissolve the salt (and other) crystals, and better than 'plain fresh water'.
I'd 'soak' / flush the zipper in vinegar.

heard someone say vasaline works well. mabey a small tinning brush to keep it where it belongs. jimbob

the canvas guys near my slip said chap stick is great and also prevents the UV from eating any zippers exposed to the Sun
