Rust on arch base weld

The rust you see is due to a few non stainless steel wires from a wire brush. Sloppy. Only way to get rid of them is to use a power wire brush with SS wires or a Dremel with a grinder bit.

A temp fix (but it will come back) is to use a rust neutralizer (one of the phosphoric acid types). Or make a paste out of a rust remover with oxalic acid (like bar keepers friend or Rit rust removed) and slather it on the spot and leave it for a day

In my opinion, Do Nothing.
The rest of the weld is perfect condition.

Rust there is no worry.

Perhaps there is no worry, but it looks unsightly and unkempt. The Admiral may even call it slovenly And want it gone from her boat.

What’s a sailor to do.
