I'm close to the wiring phase of installing an audio/video system in my boat - any suggestions on how and where to run wires from the nav panel to the port side of the boat for speakers and a TV?
If you remove the stove there is a removable panel under it. Take out the cabinet drawers and run your wiring along where the wires for your depth and wind gauges go.
Thanks Jibes - the stove's already out so very convenient. How do you get wires from the starboard side to the port side - through the engine compartment, under the galley floor or forward by the mast?
If you get inside the lazarette in your cockpit where your water heater is located you will find a channel at the top where you AC power connector is located. Maybe run wires along that using an electricians snake and a messenger line. You can also drill a hole in the side of the cabinet for the drawers and run them in then seal around the wires with caulk. Another option is pull up the floorboard under the ladder and run them along there then into the compartment next to the mast then up the wall.
