My port and starboard running lights are acting up They go off and come back on intermittantly. In examining the bulbs and sockets and associated wiring I've come to the conclusion that the sockets are bad. I tried cleaning them up, but no joy. These are the type sockets that snap into the base of the running light housing (round with many little ears that hold it in place) Any idea where I can buy replacements? I know this is a vauge discription but if you've seen them you'll know what I'm talking about

had same problem

The tabs at the bottom of my bulb wore worn and had a little corrsion.Sanded tabs and connection improved. Searching for exact new bulb myself. Replaced with smaller bulb from Boaters World not bright enough. The socket and bulb get worn and corroded causing light not to work at times.

Connectors and bulbs

Fortunately the person I bought the boat from had a few extra bulbs stored on the boat. I'll look around and see if I can find a replacement bulb and post the source to this thread... I am thinking that maybe I can disassemble the socket (the connecters are built into a spring loaded base) and resolder the wires where they attach to the connector. That seems to be my only resort at this time I also have Mike's problem in that my anchor and steaming lights don't work either. I guess a trip up the mast is in my future.
