Just took possesion of a 1984 31. The wire for the bow navigation light comes out of the port side of the bow pulpit, over the tow rail ,then into the boat. Not even a plug connection. Was this the way the factory really did this? Dennis Duncan :{

poor wiring

i have a 1989 h33.5 and had the same problem with my port running light. there are some but splices in the cabin under the bow pulpet. i had to replace the entire wire because the wire that was installed was of a poor untinned type. i don't believe that too many boats have plugs for their connections.

Right from the factory

That is the case. It was one of the only leaks we ever had on our 1985 H'31. Recaulked it in 1987 and we never had a problem again!

Running Lights: Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be going shopping for new wire this week....as well as doing a little 'fishing'.
