Running backstays I have the mast fitting but no pad eyes. Where should they be positioned? Staysail without boom No fairleads. Where should they be positioned? On a track? Fine Craft.

Running Backstay Padeyes

David, Sounds like your boat was originally ordered as a sloop rig. Both cutters and sloops were spec'ed with running backstay tangs and an inner forestay fitting on the masts. This was just in case masts somehow got mixed up with the wrong boat when loaded on a truck. (Boats and masts are loaded in different locations). My recollection is that very few PS 31PH were built as cutters. I asked Robin Bradshaw to look up the deck drawings for the PS 31PH. They are in the archives somewhere. He will try to get something to you in the near future. The drawings should show the location for staysail fairleads and running backstay padeyes. all the best, Jerry Cann, Director of Marketing, Product Development PSCmarketing@aol.com

Thank you for the response. I have received the drawings which, unfortunately do not show the position of the padeyes. Perhaps you could check their position on the PSC31 Cutter rig which I imagine will be in a similar position. I have looked at the brochure and the photographs of the PSC31 but they do not appear.
