1/ hope the captn knows how to change out his raw water impeller after shredding the vanes by pumping sand for an hour.. 2/ don't sail a 6'draft boat in 2 1/2 feet of h 2 0.

Hope the skipper has towing insurance.

Did you notice the Boca police had a heavy gun belt on and no PFD?

This might have gone quicker with less strain on the boat, especially the bow cleats, had SeaTow towed the boat from the masthead with the main halyard, just lay the boat on its side, reduce draft and pull to deeper water.

i prefer the spinnaker halyard, less strain on the shives.

I like the way the guy on the bow looks like he hauls in the starboard tow line on the cleat over the lower lifeline. But was careful to get the port line beneath the lifeline onto the bow cleat.

Do you think that helped? The tow boat eventually broke the boat free on the starboard side.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I watched the video. The sea tow guy is probably not a sailor.

I would have deployed the jib and then backed it against the wind, and the resulting heel would have floated the boat...you just need to be fast with the engine in forward so the floating boat doesn't just push back in shallower water. I have self-rescued a number of times from being aground by backing one or both sails to heel the boat.

Not sailing related but What is the deal with the YouTube guy not knowing how to use "to" and "at" From a crotchety curmudgeon, A boat or a person does not arrive "to" a place it arrives "at" a place! Learn the language folks..

I did note that the tow boat took the boat OUT into deeper water. OK, the boat's floating. But what next? After bouncing on the bottom for 1/2 an hour I'm pretty sure I like to get the boat to a dock with a capacity for haul out. Did the towboat turn around and take him in the inlet the right way. Or did he just leave the sailboat to sail to the next inlet? Or tow it there? I don't think the tow boat could just leave him - for several reasons. So I'd like to know the "Rest of the story."
