I am getting all sorts of confilcting info on the rules and regulations for trailering a H260 with its over 8 foot beam. Some say just don t worry about it, others say it depends if the total load is over 4000 pounds (which it is I guess), others say you need to get a special permit. But most are just as confused as I am. Can anybody who trailers his H260 a lot give me some straight dope? I would sure appreciate it. Tip in Texas

I trailer mine

all the time from colorado to utah, to arizona, to mexico, no problem. the rule on interstate highways is 8'6'' max. anything over is considered a wide load. My 260 on the trailer is 8'11". I have never pulled a permit and I've never had a problem.

trailering in TX

We have hauled our 260 all over TX and the southeast US for 3 years and never had a problem. Our favorite TX spot is Port Aransas/Corpus. Just be sure you do not pull into any weigh stations - you are not required to and that is the only place (from my trucking experience) where they may measure you.
