I understand the equipment rules for the Great Lakes are a little bit different than elsewhere. Any body have a web site where these are posted? Am planning my first Lake Erie islands week in April. Many thanks.

Great Lakes Plaque
There is a great lakes plaquard that we have mounted regarding garbage overboard, but other than that I do not know what else you would need. It will be colder than a witches you know what in April. The water temp will in the 40 degree range. Be sure to have a dinghy or life raft. If you have an emergency you would not last more than 30 minutes in that water. The great lakes are like a heat sink. Does not warm up until June and stays moderate until early October. Good luck.

Steve, its colder than you thought in April. According to the attached graph on average the Lake Erie temperature doesn't hit 40 until about 1st May. Today's surface water temp is 33.5F. Kevin
