I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
How far of a dingy ride would it be from the ancorage area in Rudy Inlet to the public boat docks? I have a 8' hard dingy with a 2.5 hp outboard. Would that be okay to run to the public boat docks? Is there a better place to make landfall in that area?

fishing center closest

It's a short jaunt over to the fishing center which is right on the other side of the bridge. About 300 yards from where most drop anchor, unless you literally mean a publicly-owned facility, in which case the nearest dock would be the Owl Creek launch ramp about mile up on Owl Creek. The anchorage is surrounded by neighborhood.

Do not try going up the creek or you will probably demast as that bridge is not very high. I tried many moons ago with help of moonshine I was drinking which was good. Peach brandy which I made.

I know better than trying the bridge

I have been looking at charts for the ancorage. The fishing center is okay with people tying dingys up there? Owl creek is about a mile up Rudy Inlet? Has anyone made this run in a dingy with a smaller outboard?
