Rod Johnson,

Call D&R Marine

I'd give Rudy at D&R Marine a call (508) 644-3001. He was the parts Dept. Manager for O'Day and now runs a company that makes and sells replacement parts for O'Days. He should have the dimensions for the original rudder for the O'Day 20 as well as the optional kick-up rudder. Of course he also sells these parts and for getting on the water soonest, that may be the best thing. Check out the D&R Web-site, I'll link it below. Rudy also has the rigging guide for the O'Day 20 if you call him.

Anudder rudder

Tim, Here's my rudder (pics P9100001.jpg through P9100005.jpg on link below). Wood between 1/4" aluminum plates is 1" thick (same as rudder blade before taper). Rudder is 11 1/2" wide. Length from bottom of bottom mount bracket to forward end is 35". From bottom of top mount bracket to tiller rest is 7 3/4". Kick-up pivot is 4 1/2" from forward edge and 2" above the bottom of the bottom mount. Overall tiller length is 43 1/2". Hope this helps. Happy sails MArk
