I had my rudder stolen out of my car during hurricane Earl. Does anybody in the Boston area know of a salvage yard or someone with an extra rudder that I may purchase? I live in Halifax MA. Thanks

I just found out about a salvage yard in Quincy called "Continental Marine." One of the guys in our club had his 15' wood tug boat tied to our dock so it could swell up and some crook stole the anchor off it. He went to this guy in Quincy and bought another anchor the same size that would fit the anchor chalks. He told me that this guy has a lot of sailboat parts and he knows what he has. Finding the right rudder is a shot in the dark, but well worth looking into. There's another place in Melville Boat Basin on the way to Newport RI called the Ship's Store. They are located in the area of North Sails and have a good size Nautical Consignment area in the building. It's not in the Boston area, but well worth checking out as well as Newport Nautical Exchange, and Marine Consignment of Wickford and Mystic.
Thanks Joe. The sad part is that whomever stole this probably has no use for it. Could be laying in the woods somwwhere.
That's sad. Some thief in my area has been nabbed twice already for trying to steal the same boat out of a marina in Somerset. Stuff like this really bothers me to no end. I hope things turn out favorable for you. Good luck.
