I'm in the process of connecting the rudder & motor together on my 94 h26. I saw the setup in the photo archives. I really dont want to use the motor cover as the motors pivit. Im sure it works ok with a Tahatsu, but I have a Honda 9.9[quite a bit heaver and bigger than the Tahatsu [dont know if I spelled that right] Has anyone done this on a 94 with a 9.9 Honda? If so I could use a little help with layout of pieces. Thanks and Good Sailing. Pat

Me too

Pat - I'd like to do the same thing with my '97 H26. I have the Honda 15hp outboard, but it is almost identical to the 9.9 (same weight and size). I'll let you know if I come up with anything. If you beat me to it (most likely), please drop me an email and let me know how it came out. My email is rmehr@att.net Thanks Ron Mehringer s/v Hydro-Therapy

Check this out

Hey guys, I have been thinking about the same thing and while surfing the web I found Honda makes something that might help with the motor to rudder connection. http://www.honda-marine.com/hmframeset.htm I haven't actually seen one of these brackets, but I believe it would be one way to connect to the engine. Someday when I get time I am going to make the connection. Thanks, Dean "Chateau de Vent"

Come on guys....

I know that many of you owners have done the motor to rudder connection thing. Other than the one pictured in the photo archive, what were some other solutions?? Would be particularly interested in any solutions involving Honda motors and wheel steering. Dean, I looked on that Honda WEB site you mentioned and didn't see anything intended for a 9.9 that looks like it would solve this problem. Secondly, I had an OB motor lock that worked just fine in locking the transom screws (wing nuts?) on a former motor. However when I attempted to install it on the Honda 9.9, seems the wing nut handles are smaller and the lock can be pulled right off! So my second question is what are Honda 9.9 owners doing about locking/securing the motor? Again I saw no such device available from the Honda WEB site. Appreciate any help. Thanks. Tom
