Sending second request, not sure I did the first one right. recently acquired a 25 oday, and found out the rudder is to short as it is not original..If anyone has specs I will appreciate it very much so I can correct the problem. Height, length and width..thanks dennyg

Then the actual drawings and specs on the Rudder are available from the Ships Library at Mystic Seaport for coping charge. Also available is a spec sheet on a kick up rudder for the 25 designed by the designer of O'Day 25, John Deknatel.
There is also a company that sells a kick up rudder for the 25, but it is a bit pricey. All the above can be found in the archives of this site. And, maybe more informantion.

If you have never been there and it would be possible to visit, it is worth an hour or two just to see the real drawings that made the boats.
In 1982 you should have had the modifiec balanced rudder. That is it is shorter that earlier versions but reaches back under hull. The balanced rudder reduces weather helm of earlier boats.

Ships library is not web site but can be accessed from web site. But specific drawings has to come from either personal visit or email request for research. They are only open two days a week last time I was there. But if you get in door they are helpful.
