After a grounding this past weekend the rudder on my 35.5 was severely damaged [bent] and will have to be replaced. My yard which specializes in sailboats said they routinely do this work. It sounds like it is rubbing against the hull. Anything more I should know?? Fredd M.

Probably not the rudder,

per se, it's the rudder post that's bent. You can haul it out and straighten it using a come-along. I feel your pain. Did the same thing on my 37.5 last fall. Not a big deal, although granted it does seem like one now.

Fred, Foss Foam Comments

Clearly if you need a "NEW" rudder Foss is the place to go because they have the mold. A few years back I encountered quality control issues and shipping damage but both were resolved. I like the Kenyon spars on my 34 and was impressed with the internal wiring chase design. Their kerosene stove was ok too, I have no experience with Mar Metal. I look to you guys with the $80,000 Hunters for that stuff
