Has anyone tried to remove the rudder from an Oceanis 321 or 323? I have removed all of the bolts from the quadrant, but I can't seem to be able to get the pin that runs through the rudder post and quadrant to move very much at all. I have hit on the pin with a hammer. I have tried to lubricate it as much as possible, but it still will not budge. Does anyone know of a "trick" to get this pin out of the rudder, so I can drop the rudder and inspect the post?

Wish I could help

We also have a 321, but have not removed the rudder. if the pin is in place, why do you need to remove it? Sounds like it must be OK? Might want to try calling Beneteau Customer Service. They are very helpful.

Does it move at all?

Although I no longer own my 321, I did remove the rudder a few times over the 5 years I had it. Check to see that the pin is not "mushroomed" on the end as that would prevent it from going through the hole. The rudder post is composite so there shouldn't be a corrosion issue, but if the pin isn't mushroomed and you've relieved the load off it (pushing rudder UP from underneath), the only reason it wouldn't come off is that it's siezed somehow.
