Rudder Question

This past weekend, while coming out of the marina, I bumped the bottom (soft pack sand) and then did the same to my rudder. I've got a Hunter 38 with a spade rudder. Checked the rudder for play and it appears fine. Went down to check the rudder itself for damage and it appears I cracked the fairing on the bottom forward edge of the rudder. Do I need to worry about this until I have the boat hauled in about six months?

Probably. There are a couple of ........threads?? Not sure abt. the terminology here........anyway, the subject of water in a rudder was addressed a week or so ago. Read & heed. Or weep, 'cause it would appear that it can be a bit of a chore to get the wet out of the rudder.
